Bats Across Texas – A Worthy Non-Profit

During my recent trip to Austin I had the great pleasure of meeting the founder of Bats Across Texas, Bettina Canales Jary-Mathis.

Bettina (who is also a board member of Bat Conservation International) and her associates at Bats Across Texas have a keen vision of what bat conservation could – and should! – look like in Texas and have created a non-profit organization whose mission of education and advocacy serve as a terrific model of what strategic, grass-roots conservancy can achieve.
